Evening Prayer each weekday from Tuesday to Friday is said at 5.15 pm.

Bell practice on Tuesday at 7.45 pm.

Holy Communion on Wednesday at 10.30 am.  Coffee/tea available afterwards from 11.15 am.

Sunday 14th is Trinity 20: our main service of Holy Communion is at 10.30 am with music – Young Seekers meet in foyer.  Said Eucharist at 8.00 am. Church Office at 12.30 pm. Please note the next Choral Evensong is on 21st October at 6.30 pm.

The funeral takes place in church on Monday 15th for the late David Sayer at 10.45 am.

Looking Ahead

At 7.30pm, on Friday 26 October, the Friends of Stoke Minster will be holding another Quiz Night with “Pie & Peas” Supper. Pies will be traditional beef & veg. A vegetarian option will be available if notified beforehand. Tickets will be on sale soon at £5 per person from Committee members or Church wardens. Proceeds this time will go towards the cost of the new Gallery Lighting.

Our annual All Souls Commemoration takes place on Sunday 4th November at 6.30 pm. There is a signing list if you would wish to add names of loved ones – CAPITAL letters please.

Remembrance Sunday is this year on the centenary anniversary of the Armistice, 11th November. There will be a simple eucharist at 9.30 am – not 10.30 am – that morning. The civic commemoration will start at the Cenotaph at 10.40 am followed by a service in the Minster at which Bishop David McGough (Auxillary Bishop for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham) will be preaching.

The Christmas Fayre takes place on Saturday 24th November from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm. More publicity soon, but meanwhile donations for bric a brac, the bottle stall, and different prizes and gifts are appreciated.

Other Notices

Christians in Politics – the Influence Tour – takes place in Stoke-on-Trent on 24 November with an evening meeting at 7.30 pm This is a cross-party initiative encouraging Christians to engage in political debate. Speak to the clergy for more details.
